I am incredibly disappointed by the perspective in this video that demonizes teachers. I have been teaching for 19 years and words like “T-Rex Don’t mess with Papasaurus you’ll get Jurasskicked shirt” is completely off limits. The focus is on the acquisition of skills, resilience, and competency. As a Spanish teacher, while I am confident in students’ need to learn a foreign language.
By far and away the most important skill si can ever teach them is how to learn. Teachers have a thankless and exhausting job, often caring considerably more about students’ educations than students and their T-Rex Don’t mess with Papasaurus you’ll get Jurasskicked shirt. We raise thousands of kids over the course of our careers. We show up every day and invest ourselves in them, regardless of what we get in return.
