I'm so confused. Obviously I'm aware that the morning-after pill isn't always effective because no non-permanent method of contraception is. But I've never heard of it simply not working if it's taken after ovulation. The Skeletons Santa Ugly Christmas Sweater information leaflets even say it's thought to work by preventing any egg that may have been released from being fertilized. I'm sure they wouldn't be allowed to print this is it wasn't true. The morning-after pill works by stopping ovulation for only a few days. So if you ovulate 5 days after the tablet then it won’t work.

For people that have been a victim of a sexual assault and have had this given to them, it may not work depending on where in the cycle they are. This then causes even more distress for the victim. I’m sure there is something else that can induce a period for people that have already suffered as a pregnancy would be awful to have to go through.
